Our Assistant/Instructor
Our Assistant Trainer and Instructor, Lora, has grown up around horses. She has been in her family’s business since she was a little girl. She has been with Silver Star Stables since its opening in 2024, helping her aunt with working horses and giving lessons. She has also been involved with American Saddlebred Futurities the last few years working with several colts.
Lora enjoys working with younger students and Tiny-Tots. She enjoys building a strong foundation so that a student can go on to become a confident rider. Lora likes to instill confidence in her students so that they understand and can ride any horse they are put on. Horsemanship and understanding very important to her and she wants to impart that knowledge onto her students.

Meet our Trainer
Our Trainer and Instructor, Melissa, has been riding and showing horses for 40+ years. She specializes in the training of American Saddlebreds, Morgans, and Hackney Ponies. She has spent years honing her skills and ensuring that she has the right ingredients for turning out successful riders. She is skilled at putting teams together that not only look good but work together cohesively.
Melissa believes in ensuring that students are well rounded, learning not only how to ride horses, but learning good horsemanship on the ground. She believes that horsemanship skills are just as important off the horse as well as they are on the horse. Her philosophy is that teaching students how to properly groom and care for the horse are what give the child that unbreakable bond with their horse.
