Helper Program
In addition to our riding lessons, we offer a helper program for new and existing students. This gives students, who are interested, the ability to be in the barn, without having to pay extra for the experience. This offers students the chance to learn things outside of riding and gives good insight on what it actually means to take care of the horse outside of lessons also. The levels that we offer are Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, and Intern Level. Each student will have different tasks and duties based on the level that they are, with the difficulty of certain task going up as they move up through each level. They will also be in charge of taking care of certain horses based on their level; this list of horses grows as they progress.
To join this program students must be at least nine years old or older and have taken at least 12 lessons or have been taking lessons for at least three months in order to apply. All applicable students will be asked to supply a GPA. If unable to provide a GPA because their school does not provide one for their grade, then they must be at least a B student on their report card (we do not need proof of grades, we trust that all applicants will be honest when applying). Parents must also sign off on the application of each student. Once each application is filled out it must be handed in to LoraBeth for evaluation. Applicants will either be called on the phone or told at lessons whether or not their application has been accepted. Once a rider feels they have progressed enough to move up a level they will be required to complete a check list, that must be handed in and signed by LoraBeth or Melissa before they can move forward and apply for the next level. This ensures that no helper is moved up and put in charge of things that they are not ready for.
